Disability Support in the Heart of Auburn

Auburn is one of the most culturally rich corners of Western Sydney, and it is a community we are proud to work in every day. From the busy shopfronts around Auburn Central to the quiet streets near the Botanic Gardens, Hold Hands Services supports NDIS participants right across the suburb with practical, person-centred care.

Our support workers come to you — at home, at a local park, or out in the community. Whether you live near Auburn Station, down towards the Duck River or closer to the Parramatta Road end of the suburb, we build supports around the life you actually lead. We also cover neighbouring suburbs including Lidcombe, Berala, Regents Park, Clyde, Granville and South Granville.

As a registered NDIS provider, we hold ourselves to the highest quality and safeguarding standards. If you or someone you care for is looking for a provider that listens first and acts second, we would love to hear from you.

Auburn NDIS Questions, Answered

Straight answers to the things local participants and families ask us most often.

Am I eligible for the NDIS?

Eligibility is based on your age, residency and disability rather than your postcode. Generally, you need to be under 65 when you apply, be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or Protected Special Category Visa holder, and have a permanent and significant disability that affects your daily life. If you are unsure, contact us and we will point you towards the right first steps.

What types of NDIS plans do you work with?

We support participants with plan-managed, self-managed and NDIA-managed (agency-managed) plans. If you are not sure which type of plan management you have, bring your plan along to our first chat and we will help you work out what supports you can access with us.

I don't drive. Can I still get out and about with your support?

Absolutely. This part of Western Sydney is well connected, with trains on the T1 Western and T2 Inner West & Leppington lines running through Auburn Station and regular buses along Parramatta Road. Our support workers can meet you at home, accompany you on public transport, and even help you build confidence with travel training as part of your life skills goals.

Can you match me with a support worker who understands my culture?

This is one of the most multicultural corners of Sydney, and we know that feeling understood matters. When we match you with a support worker, tell us your language, cultural and religious preferences and we will do our very best to find someone who is the right fit for you and your family.

How do I get started with Hold Hands Services?

Simply call us or send an enquiry through our contact page. We will arrange a free, no-obligation chat — over the phone, at your home or somewhere local that suits you — to learn about your goals, review your plan and explain how our supports could work for you. From there, we match you with a support worker and agree on a start date together.

A Local NDIS Provider That Truly Knows Auburn

There is a reason locals describe it as a suburb with a little bit of everything. Roughly 16 kilometres west of the Sydney CBD and just seven from Parramatta, it is a place where Turkish bakeries sit beside Asian grocers and halal butchers, where the cherry blossoms draw crowds to Auburn Botanic Gardens each spring, and where families from dozens of cultural backgrounds share one welcoming community. We believe disability support should reflect that diversity, so we take the time to learn what matters to you, on your terms.

Our team supports participants with everything from personal care and household tasks to community access and skill building. We pay attention to the details that shape your week — the appointments, the family commitments, the cultural and religious observances, the favourite café near the station — and we build a support schedule that bends with your life as it changes, not one you have to bend around.

Making the Most of Your NDIS Plan

No two plans look alike, so we always start by listening. We work alongside you, your family and your support coordinator to line up your funding with your goals, whether your plan is plan-managed, self-managed or NDIA-managed. Completely new to the scheme? The official National Disability Insurance Scheme website explains eligibility and how to apply, and we are happy to talk you through what it all means in plain language.

Across Lidcombe, Berala and the wider Cumberland area, participants and families trust Hold Hands Services for consistent, respectful support. Reach out today for a no-obligation conversation about what good support could look like for you or your loved one.
